In fields of snow

As the landscape becomes clearer, you find yourself in a dark, snowy environment, with faint lights perceptible on the horizon. Approaching the lights, you discover a lonely gas station, isolated in the lightless terrain.

Although serving as little cover, the structure makes you feel slightly safer from the snowfall. The surrounding fields contain nothing but emptiness, extending for miles with no variation, other than a gradual decrease in temperature, becoming colder until it becomes physically unbearable.

You continue traveling in the hopes of finding another structure, any place of refuge, but you eventually relent and drop to the snow-ridden ground as the frostbite becomes too much to bear. You open your eyes for what feels like the final time. Though you're frozen stiff, something bright fills your vision in the distance…
