HIDE

You wake up on a soft and comfortable bed. As you sit up, the smell of wood seeps into your nose with the sound of chirping from beyond the window invading your ears. You look outside, but you're met with blinding lights obstructing your view, causing you to lose your vision for a few moments, but you shake it off. Glancing at your side, you peer into the mirror in the room.

The reflection of you with clearly messy hair makes you snicker a bit as you get up and begin to exit the room. As you move through the door, stepping foot into the living room, one notices the clear lack of furniture inside the cabin. The only ones that make themselves clear are the kitchen counter and some cabinets above it. As you stand in the doorway, the smell of breakfast wafts through.

As one walks toward the source of the aroma, hoping to find delectable food to satisfy their growing hunger, they would soon notice that there isn't anything to be seen. There aren't even any appliances in the kitchen. Thinking nothing of it, you head outside. The welcoming environment greets you with joy, and as you look up into the sky, it appears as though it's almost sunset… Already?

CAUGHT

You go and grab a chair to sit down while watching the plants on the other side of the dirt road dance in the wind. The sun starts to set as a crescent moon begins to fade into view. Looking up at the sky again, anyone would notice that it's a different shade than normal.

However this crimson night doesn't bother you, instead, you find it oddly comforting as you return to staring at the plants. The breeze appears to be gone, the plants laying still, staring daggers into you. You doze off as you gaze at them, almost as if the plants were tucking you in.

In the midst of your deep slumber, the loud and sudden sound of static coming from a siren in the distance blares throughout the forest. The deafening crescendo of noise startles you awake as you jump with a jolt. The distorted voice of a man comes through the sirens. In the jumble of noise, the words "moon" and "hide" can be barely heard.

Disoriented, you spin your head, looking at your surroundings for answers, ultimately staring up into the night sky. As one scans the empty space over them, an immediate sense of despair arises as you've realized that even the stars above have fled from the threat. In the distance of the reddish-black void, lies the full moon. You have your eye on it, with the moon returning the favor.
