Calming Corner

Calming music fills the cozy café, filling all with a wonderful feeling of bliss and joy. Clanking mugs filled with coffee and tea, plants hanging from the ceiling, hardwood oak floors pristinely shined. Colorful stools rest under the tables, some flipped over and others upright.

Couches line the windows, square pillows snugly fixed in their corners. Short hallways separate off into more rooms that share a similar appearance. But the safety ends there, conditions become more extreme the farther one dares to travel, with no end in sight to the labyrinth of cafés.

Rooms past the first lack any exit doors. They begin to be grittier, with the lights becoming progressively dimmer. Some rooms seem to have been destroyed by something unknown. It feels as if there is something lurking in the darkness, ready to strike, ready to cure its lust for sustenance. Following eyes peer from an unknown distance, waiting… yearning for its next victim.
