Meltdown
Deep, loud buzzing noises originating from small, hanging light bulbs, can be heard throughout the entirety of the abandoned tunnels. The only form of life being small patches of moss, that present themselves on seemingly unnatural places such as on top of pipes that follow the length of the hallways. Always depicting the subtle reconquering of everything through natures hand
Faltering lights is common and the successive blackouts cause temperatures to become uncomfortably high. The halls intersect at senseless angles, being illogically connected with the paths sometimes blocked off by metal gates.
The Cooling Towers
As the occasional, cold gust of wind rushes through the corridors, an opening may manifest itself, which when traversed towards, yields the view of the gigantic, gaping maw of a rundown cooling tower. Flickering red lights line its circumference. Accompanied by the sound of a broken and distorted alarm and the distant crackling of a Geiger counter.
The dim light of the night sky presents itself, causing a feeling of freedom that is so close, yet ever so distant. Rusted catwalks line the center of the interior, leading up to a large empty platform. The ground below containing nothing but roaring sewerage.
A somewhat bearable temperature sets in, an enticing situation for a rest. With the ever increasing presence of moss being present in this area, allowing for entire areas of floor to be covered in it, the thought of taking a breather becomes even more compelling.
