Terminal Lucidity
Terminal%20Lucidity

The sun rises as the darkness finally retreats, what's ahead finally becoming visible, your mind clearing from the fog. The gentle sun lays on your skin as the soft grass invites you towards the hallway ahead. Flowers bloom, filling the air with their soft, serene scent, as you wander down the sun-lit hallway.

feeling at peace as you peer out the windows leading to a cloud-filled sky. A gentle tune plays in your head; it's soft, calming even, leaving you feeling satisfied with everything leading up to this point. The classrooms to your left are empty, holding nothing more than the occasional school desk.

The silk-white curtains lightly flutter on the windows in the soft breeze. You glance at the room numbers; the further you travel, the more they count down — you realize you're nearing the end. You reflect on all you've forgotten, all the things your mind has left to be abandoned.

You don't want to wake up this time.

You look at the room number, it now being at 100. With this, you peer down the hallway; you can see what appears to be a silky void awaiting your presence. You make your way down to the final room. The door is locked like all the others, as you decide to walk into the abyssal doorway looming before you.

As you walk out into the void, the land becomes visible. You're welcomed by a cloudy void as the sun shines on the land and brightly in the sky. The clouds are like soft pillows lightly heated by the sun. As the sun shines on you, the fog clouds your brain, and the soft tone abruptly cuts. No sound is present, not even wind.

The hallway behind you dissolves into the horizon and you're left in the empty sky. you try to wander, to find a place to go. Though eventually, the fog gets to you. You collapse to the ground as the soft clouds envelop you, sitting in the soft blanket the clouds provide to you. White fog fills your brain as you feel yourself begin to lose control. You calmly accept the situation.
