Wooden Confines
Old, dark maple lays on the dust-covered walls as the cold stone floor sits below. A slight inhalation of dust with every breath. Rooms bend and creak with sharp turns, splintering into vast rooms and hallways. Scratching emanates from unseen rooms behind the wooden walls.
The inconsistent layout leading to nowhere, and hallways leading to dead ends. Traversing the rooms to find something different becomes fruitless. Through every one of the faded wooden doorways, nothing is found. The air chokes with dust.
The sense of being watched is beyond obvious, but every room is devoid of life. One’s vision often becomes disoriented and blurred. Some unfinished rooms reveal the old wooden supports and concrete layers behind.
The rooms without light carry with them a feeling of dread, with the rare well-lit rooms having inconsistently-placed lights. Even in the light, nothing is safe from the dark. The light may leave one plunged into darkness for periods of time.
